The City of Philadelphia Division of Aviation shares its most recent progress on sustainability and resilience in its 2021 Sustainability Annual Report. This report provides information about efforts at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) during 2020 and 2021. The Division of Aviation embraces sustainability in its mission to connect Philadelphia with the world, and seeks to lead the airport industry in sustainability and resilience.

In support of that mission, since the 2019 Environmental Progress Report:

Muzzem “Kofil” Hussain, a bartender at OTG restaurant Baba Bar recently received the “Impression Makers” award in Philadelphia International Airport’s (PHL) Employee Recognition Program. This award recognizes customer-facing employees who provide direct customer service to passengers.  

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) has announced a limited number of onsite parking spaces will be available for passengers beginning April 21. The 1,850 spaces are located in airport’s economy parking lot and accessible via the parking lot’s Island Avenue entrance. Parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Shuttle buses will drop off and pick up passengers at all PHL terminals.

The Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and MarketPlace PHL will host a one-hour leasing outreach webinar on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 11a.m. Restauranteurs, retailers including automated (vending) retailers, and quick service food operators are invited to learn about the airport concession leasing process. MarketPlace PHL has over 130 restaurant, food and retail locations open throughout the airport.

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is anticipating a very busy Spring Break season throughout its terminals. With changes to where and how people work, some travelers are finding it easier to get away for long weekends.  

“Not only are our passengers heading to sun and sand destinations for vacation, but we are also beginning to see the return of business travelers,” said PHL Deputy Director of Strategic Partnerships Kate Sullivan. “And, on March 26, the airlines’ summer schedules began, which means more transatlantic service for PHL.”  

The launch of the airlines’ summer schedules on March 26 marked the return of several American Airlines’ transatlantic routes at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) for the first time since 2020.
