Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) celebrated the opening of its newly relocated and constructed USO Lounge on October 10. 

On October 7, the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation Community Relations Department hosted its first Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Symposium to inspire over 40 young high school students from Cristo Rey Philadelphia and Interboro High Schools.  

Cybersecurity is a critical issue that airports and airlines take seriously nationwide. October marks Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation and other organizations host various events to inform and educate employees on cybersecurity.  

Thousands of Navy and Marine Corps veterans, personnel, and their families are expected to visit Philadelphia from October 9-November 11 for Homecoming 250, a celebration marking the 250th anniversaries of the founding of the Navy and Marine Corps. On October 8, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) hosted a kick-off celebration to welcome those flying through PHL for the Homecoming 250 festivities and to recognize airport employees who served in the military.  

On September 24, the Philadelphia Airport Concessions Academy concluded the last of five total modules of the third concession academy. Twenty-seven individuals representing twenty-three businesses participated in the process of learning how to become a concessionaire at PHL.
