This distinction acknowledges employees who create a positive experience for guests through service and delivery while collaborating with other organizations.

Last month, while Marylou Luif was traveling from Chicago to Philadelphia for a wedding, she lost a valuable and sentimental piece of jewelry. She did not realize her diamond ring was missing until she was in her hotel room that night. Luif called the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) Lost and Found, but no one had turned in the ring yet. She thought for sure the jewelry was lost forever. The ring was not only expensive, but it was also an irreplaceable gift from a loved one.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Transportation Security Officer (TSO) Alfred Rotunno recently received the “Safe & Sound” award in the inaugural round of Philadelphia International Airport’s (PHL) Airport Employee Recognition Program. This award recognizes employees who protect the integrity and safety of passengers through proactive communication, exemplary teamwork, courage, and effective action.   

A little friendly competition can make adopting healthy lifestyle habits more fun. In September, the City of Philadelphia's Division of Aviation kicked off its PHL Well employee wellbeing program by encouraging staff members to increase their daily water intake and reduce consumption of sugary drinks. Yolanda Parks of the Airport's Purchasing Administration Unit led the way, drinking more than 1,120 ounces of water to win the Hydration Station Challenge.

GAT Airline Ground Support – Spirit Airlines Guest Service Agent Michael Dunn recently received the “Impression-makers” award in the inaugural round of Philadelphia International Airport’s (PHL) Airport Employee Recognition Program.
